American Express Aspire Card

I mentioned in an earlier blog that we are Hilton Honors members and Loyalists. We stay at Embassy Suites https://www.hilton.com/en/embassy/ whenever and wherever we can. Embassy Suites is the best value hotel stay in my opinion! What other chain provides you with a two room suite, a two hour manager’s reception in the evening, and a full cooked to order breakfast in the morning all for the cost of the going hotel rate in the area?

However, in this discussion I am plugging the American Express Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card. When it was first offered to us several years ago there was a sign up bonus of 150,000 points which I found interesting but the annual fee was $450.00 which slowed me down a little. But as I delved a little deeper, I found a few more incentives such as a free weekend night upon renewal, Diamond Status with Hilton, and unlimited membership in Priority Pass a Global Airport Lounge Service.

Now you’re talking!

We don’t get to travel that many times a year but it is most excellent when we get to the airport a little early (I actually look forward to getting there early) and we can “chill out” in a quiet, nicely appointed, lounge with a free beverage or snack.

I also notice at this writing American Express is no longer offering this card, which tells me that I made the right decision back then. So I guess this conversation is moot, unless American Express decides to offer the Aspire Card once again, and then I say, “Jump on it like a duck on a June bug.”
